Thank you very much, sir.Regards,Krishna Kumar
There is a slight resistance. We wish to increase half an hour at the end of the shift. I doubt the legality, and we don't have unions.
If the shift is up to 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, it is okay. There is no need to inform anyone, but are the employees ready to accept this change?
As of now, we are running two shifts (A & B: 6 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm). We would like to change the timings to 6 am to 2.30 pm and 2 pm to 10.30 pm, which is more than 8 hours, including the lunch break.
Your query will be covered by a reading of Chapter 4 of the Factories Act, 1948\. Sections 51 to 56 will be relevant here.Thank you!
If working hours, including shift overlapping time, are less than or equal to 8 hours per day, there is no need to inform any authority.
There are no legal issues.
We would like to introduce an overlapping shift system (30 minutes) due to shift handover and taking over issues. Is it required to get approval from the Factories Department? Please suggest.
Hi Chandru,I require a security shift handover and takeover checklist, as well as a security guard patrolling checklist format. Could you please share the same if available?Thank you.
Make a list of all items handed over/taken over, like torches, wireless devices, occurrence registers, etc.It depends on the items and documents each shift is holding. A permanent list of items needs to be prepared for each shift in charge to hand over/take over...
