Hi,As advised by Sharma, it is better if you continue your job or avail leave for some time. If you resign from your job, then you will not only lose medical benefits for some time but also maternity benefits from ESI.
Take a leave under the panel doctor/dispensary advice. This will entitle you to medical benefits plus wages, which are not available in case of resignation.
